Joel was great – with a pleasant and warm personality it was a pleasure to talk with him about how he was going to get rid of the huge wasp nest we had hanging in a tree in our front yard. Considering the nest was also hanging close to power lines, Joel took the time to assess any danger and how he was going to take the nest down. In no time he had the problem safely solved and the nest destroyed. I also appreciated that Joel, knowing I was curious about the nest, and the behaviour of the wasps, after destroying the nest and ensuring the wasps were no longer a problem, Joel brought the nest to show me the inner structure of it (a little show and tell) – it was nice that Joel take the time to engage with my curiosity and I appreciated his calm and respectful professional approach and presence on our property. Should we ever need pest control in the future I would not hesitate to reach out to The Bugman again!
I’ve used The Bugman for about seven years across multiple homes, rental properties and my own residence, and they’ve been exceptional.
Every member of their team has been personable, knowledgeable and genuinely helpful. They don’t just treat the problem, they explain where pests are getting in, what needs to change and how to prevent it from happening again.

Very professional. Our pest activity dramatically went down after days after their initial visit. The one thing that I really appreciated that you don’t get with a lot of continuous service companies, is that Bugman took it on themselves to schedule follow up services that were part of the contract, rather than me having to follow up and schedule. Very professional and helpful; we had a hornets nest in an area where we were planning some volunteer work and even though we could not locate the nest itself they sprayed the tree, bushes and vincinity where the insects were active. After the application we did not see any further activity.
Bugman pest control scheduled is for a quick inspection as we were under a very time sensitive deadline in the subject removal of our house. We have used their services a number of times, they are a first rate company that is responsive, professional and always do a good job. When we have a pest problem they are our go to. We would not hesitate to recommend them. Their prices are reasonable and the thoroughness and expertise they bring is exceptional.
Matthew was here when he said he would be, and was very courteous. He sprayed thoroughly into the ground wasp nest and surrounding areas. He explained what to watch for and made sure to tell me that if there was a problem still in a few days,that Bugman will come back at no charge.

Langley pest control: the questions people actually ask
The answers below come from the complaints customers make about pest control companies in the Fraser Valley.
Do I pay before the work, or after?
A deposit books your appointment and the balance is due once the work is finished. Nobody is asked to hand over the full amount before a technician has seen the property. The quote is free and it comes first, so you have the number before you decide.
If I cancel, do I get my deposit back?
Yes, as long as you tell us before the appointment. Call the office on (604) 854-2847 as soon as you know you do not need the visit and the deposit goes back to you. Plans change, and a wasp nest sometimes dies off on its own before we get there.
Will I get an arrival time, or do I have to wait all day?
You get an arrival window, not a date and an open-ended wait. If the job before yours runs long, we call you rather than leave you watching the driveway. The office runs Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm and does not book weekends, so say early which weekday suits you.
Do I have to take a day off work to be home for you?
Often not. Much of the pest control work in Langley happens outside the house: a wasp nest under the soffit, carpenter ant activity along the foundation, rodent stations around the perimeter. Interior work does need somebody to let the technician in. Describe what you have seen when you book, and the office will tell you whether you need to be there.
Are the treatments safe for my kids and my pets?
The products we use, Dragnet among them, are low-odour and chosen to be safe around children and pets once the application is dry. You get preparation instructions before the visit and a product information sheet for whatever was applied. Tell the office about children, pets, fish tanks, allergies and any room you would rather we left alone, and the technician plans around them.
Is your technician licensed to apply pesticide in BC?
Yes. In British Columbia every pest control technician must be licensed under the Integrated Pest Management Act. That is provincial law, not a badge a company awards itself. The Bugman is a family-run, government-licensed business with more than 30 years in the trade, and you can ask to see the technician’s certificate at the door.
Will I get the same technician each visit?
On an ongoing programme, yes. Customers on a regular schedule work with a dedicated technician who learns the building, the crawl space and the pest history, so you are not starting the story over every season. For a single call-out it depends on who is free that week.
What happens if I still see activity after the first treatment?
Call the office and describe what you are seeing and where. Some of it is expected: with rodents and cockroaches activity often rises before it drops, because the treatment pushes them out of hiding. The technician reassesses the property and treats again where it is needed. Which follow-up visits are included depends on the service you booked, so ask about it before the job starts.
Do you charge for a quote?
No. Quotes are free. The price depends on the pest, the size of the property, how easy the affected area is to reach, how far the activity has spread, which treatment fits and how many follow-up visits it needs. For some jobs we recommend an inspection first, and we say so before anything is booked.
